The National Student Survey (NSS) results were released yesterday and I am delighted that the Union’s satisfaction score has increased to 74% - our highest ever!
The results put QMSU into the Top 40 rankings of Students’ Unions nationally at 37th, a jump of 8 places from last year!
It’s been a great year for the Union, having worked hard to improve students’ lives throughout the first year of our new strategic plan. We’ve seen a huge increase in involvement with our societies, sports clubs, buddy scheme, student media, volunteering and RAG as well as a high level of engagement with Union democracy. We have also strived to improve the services we provide including academic advice, cafes and venues.
I’m looking forward to an even bigger year for the Union this year. With A level results just around the corner, my fellow sabbatical officers and I are working round the clock to make sure we deliver an exciting Welcome Week for our new and returning students! We want every student to be satisfied with the services and opportunities that the Union provides.
QMUL also has cause for celebration today, as the institution’s satisfaction scores ranked 10th in the Russel Group and joint top in London. We look forward to continuing our contribution to these satisfaction ratings through the partnership work of our dedicated Course Reps.
We will be continuing our efforts to improve students’ lives alongside the university.
