On Friday 3rd of May the University of London announced that it will be following recommendations from the Collegiate Council to reform the University of London Union (ULU).

The review recommends that ULU in its current form ceases in the summer of 2014. The services that students most value will be retained, including the swimming pool, gym, shops, cafes, bars, venues, and the administrative support for inter-collegiate sporting events.  There will no longer be elected officers, however, the report supports recommendations for the establishment of a pan-London body to represent students on a wide range of issues.

Collegiate Council members agreed that subscription monies currently paid to ULU would be redirected to support student services within their own Colleges and Institutes.

If you have any concerns or questions about the decision please contact the Vice President Welfare, Ellen Kiely at the Students' Union: vpwelfare@qmsu.org or 020 7882 8039.
