The Trustee Board is the governing body of Queen Mary Students’ Union and has overall responsibility for the management and administration of the organisation, which is delegated on a day-to-day basis to the Chief Executive Officer (Mike Wojcik) and the staff team.
The Board consists of 15 people, 10 of whom are current students at Queen Mary and 5 are non-student professionals chosen for their expertise in certain areas. The Board meets around 5 times per year and is the ultimate decision making body at Queen Mary Students’ Union. Students are elected to the Trustee Board during the Spring Election.
This is a brand new structure for the Students’ Union, following on from a review of how we govern ourselves. We did this so that we could register a charity in our own right and our aim through this structure is to become a stronger and active union; stronger in decision making, financial and legal standing and democratic structures; active in campaigning, representation and responding to the student voice.
