NUS Delegate (3 places)

There are six NUS Delegate positions available. If you self define as a woman, please make sure you state this by clicking on 'profile'. NUS delegates shall attend the NUS Annual Conference to represent Queen Mary students on the national stage. They can join the debate on NUS policy and vote on the direction of the National Union. It sets policy for the year ahead and elects the President, Vice Presidents and other representatives.

They are also responsible for chairing the Geography forum for course representatives and supporting the Vice President Humanities and Social Sciences. They are also responsible for encouraging students in the school to participate and engage with the Students’ Union.

Societies Officer (Malta)

Societies play a huge role in the student experience for many Queen Mary students. Every year, lots of students join a society, and the Societies Officer is the voice of all these students. Whether you’ve been on the committee for several different societies or you’re completely new to societies, this role will give you the opportunity to approve new societies, allocate funding (yes, you get to give free money away!) and collaborate with the staff team to improve society processes.

For many students, getting involved in sport is a highlight of their university experience, and the Sports Officer works to make their experience even better. As the Sports Officer for Malta, you’ll shape the sports activities that on offer in Malta, and you’ll have a say about new affiliations and funding decisions. This?is a non-representative position and does not sit on Student Council.

Trans Representative

The Trans Representative shall seek feedback, represent the interests of and be the voice of Trans students on issues they face. They are also responsible for supporting the Vice President Communities, coordinating and convening with the other LGBT+ Representatives, for LGBT+ History month and other appropriate campaigns liaising with members of the relevant clubs, societies and student groups and encouraging more Trans students to participate.

Welfare Officer (Malta)

The Welfare Officer (Malta) is the voice for all Malta students on matters relating to student welfare and liberation. In this role, you’ll be gathering feedback from students and lobbying the university to enhance the welfare provisions and support for students from liberation groups. You’ll also be running awareness raising activities to make students aware of the support services that are available and the issues that are affecting liberation groups.

Secretary (Malta)

The Malta Board is core to the strategy and operations of the Students’ Union’s activities in Malta, and the Secretary is responsible for supporting this core part of the organisation. The Secretary coordinates the dates for the meetings, promote the meetings, take minutes and ensure the meetings are operating smoothly. The Secretary also supports general communications to students about the Malta Board and student activities.

What would student life be without events and activities? The Entertainments Officer organises events for students based in Malta and liaise with other elected officers and staff to coordinate and promote events and activities to students.
