QMTC: Sketchfest

Saturday 23 September 2023, 2:30pm - 6pm

Pinter Studio, ArtsOne
About this event

QMTC presents SKETCHFEST: the fast-faced, no-pressure, all-fun drama festival for theatre enthusiasts of all backgrounds and none!

When and where?

14:30-6:00 + a no-obligation trip to Wetherspoons afterwards. We'll be in the Pinter Studio in the ArtsOne building, that's the door near the photocopier.

What will we do?

We'll start off with a few icebreakers then get split into groups of 4-8 and you'll get a script. Then you'll have just a few hours to put it together and perform it to everyone else!

There'll be opportunities to handle the tech or director roles if acting's not your thing, or even to devise your own script.

I've never done theatre before, does that matter!?

No! QMTC is full of people of all degrees and theatre backgrounds. Sketchfest is designed to be silly, low-pressure and FUN! There's no need to worry about how much you've done before.

You also do not need a QMTC membership.

What do I need to bring?

We recommend you come in light clothing and with water, but there'll be time from breaks throughout the day. Aside from that, there's nothing you need (unless you really want to bring a fancy costume!).

Anything else I need to know?

We'll be getting into groups early in the event, so please arrive ready to start at 2:30, or else it might be tricky to slot you into a sketch. However, if you are running late, please do just walk in and we'll work it out on the day!

We can't wait to meet you all and see all the ridiculous sketches we put on!

Got a sketch already written? Send us a message on Instagram @qmtheatreco and we might use it on the day!
