Running & Athletics

QMRAC is a newly restarted society aiming to deliver a friendly group of likeminded people with whom to train and socialise – Running doesn’t have to be a solitary pursuit! We are open to all abilities offering long-distance social runs and track training sessions for both sprinters and mid to long-distance runners.

We have plenty of activities to suit all tastes. As well as the weekly training sessions members will have the opportunity to represent Queen Mary and race against other university teams in various events held by LUCA and BUCS (COVID permitting of course)

But if not into racing or competing you are more than welcome to come along to training, meet some new friends, unwind from your studies and keep fit – there’s no pressure to compete if you don’t want to.
Not racing or competing? You are still more than welcome to come along to training, meet some new friends, unwind from your studies and keep fit – there’s no pressure to compete if you don’t want to! We are constantly working closely with the QMSU to organise a variety of 'COVID safe' activities including socials.

Whether you are brand new to running or a seasoned athlete we want to welcome you to train and have fun with us! Each training session will cater to new runners as well as those a little bit faster, so please do not worry.

Our training schedule consists of a combination of coached and member-led occurring throughout the week. Following the QMSU COVID-19 guidelines, all training sessions will begin from the week commencing 5th of October.

Training Schedule:

Monday Night 7:00-7:50pm 5k or 3K Social Run (Followed by rehydration in spoons)
