The Go-Karting club (QM Motorsport) was set up to provide students with adrenaline fuelled racing experiences. It is not only aimed at the racing fanatics but also at the students who haven't had the opportunity but desire to race. This is all without the extortionate prices that are usually associated with karting sessions. We also take part in the BUKC, the British University Karting Championship. The BUKC is a nationwide high-performance 2-stroke karting championship for university students across the United Kingdom (for more information about the championship visit: http://www.bukc.co.uk
). It takes place annually, starting with practice sessions in October and race sessions in February with more than 300 participating students from all Unis across the UK at each race day. It is organized by 3T Racing Ltd.
QM Motorsport also organises indoor go-karting sessions for those of you who do not want to participate in the BUKC and wish to get first insights into Motorsports (Social Events).
4 Test days are scheduled for the BUKC (outside London)
Test days take place from mid-October to late January.
Arrival is usually around 8am on track!
Each driver gets 30 minutes’ pure track time.
Around £50.00 p. Driver (including transport).
We will allocate the drivers in 2 or 3 different teams (of 4 drivers) according to their performance on those test days.
In those teams we are going to compete on the race days.
Everybody can change his team if he wishes to do so and we think that this will increase our competitiveness.
Equipment: It is recommended to have your own kit (Race overall, helmet, karting shoes and gloves), however they are not cheap.
BUKC will provide you with Race wear.
Commitment levels required: Those of you that wish to compete in the A-Team are advised to compete on all race days, if possible.
