We are comprised of 4 inter-university league teams (3 competing within BUCS leagues and 3 in LUSL leagues) and a Queen Mary intra-university league. Both provide a platform for competitive matches for those interested and committed to 11-a-side football.
We undertake volunteering within the local community. We’ve organised a successful football festival, which will be repeated this year. We’re also in the process of kick starting a mentoring programme.
Every year we continuously strive to improve the standard of football we play in order to achieve the best results possible. We also seek to have a good social atmosphere which allows all members to enjoy their football and be part of a unique club.
All students who wish to join QMFC must attend the trials which will be held around Freshers week. It is essential that they sign up on the Queen Mary Football Club Trials 2017/18 page, they can also sign up at our freshers fair stall. Details will then be communicated to them on where/when the trials will be and what they need to bring.
They will be trialled on technical footballing drills along with match-play situations. Those who perform well will be invited to a second trial. From there players will be placed into inter-university squads.
If not selected, or for players who wish to just play intra-university matches, they can join one of the 11-a-side intramural teams that will play on Wednesday afternoons in Victoria Park. There will also be re-freshers trials at the beginning of Semester 2.
Equipment: Participants need astro turfs for training and football boots for competitive matches. They also need shinpads. All playing kit is provided by the club.
Commitment levels required: Attendance at weekly training session and availability to play both Wednesdays and Saturdays. Strong commitment is essential to play for QMFC and is a key factor in team selection, poor commitment could lead to expulsion from the club.
Trials are held at the beginning of each semester and will be evauating technical footballing drills along with match-play situations. Join our Facebook Page for more information about when these are.
QMFC compete in BUCS and LUSL as well as the Merger Cup.
Day: Wednesdays and Saturdays
Time: 2pm KO
Venue: Our home ground Chislehurst or away against various London Universities.
