Peer Mentoring Intern

This exciting internship opportunity for a Queen Mary University of London student will support the delivery of the Union Peer Mentoring (Buddy) Scheme. The Peer Mentoring Intern will work with students, QM schools, Union officers and staff to ensure first year students have a designated point of contact for pastoral support, signposting to services and to help build social and academic communities.  The post holder will also work with mentors to help them support their mentees effectively.

The Internship will last until the spring (roughly around the time of post holder’s graduation) where the role will change to full-time until November 2018, subject to an interview.

The Students’ Union represents and supports over 18,000 students who make up the diverse and vibrant student body at Queen Mary, University of London.

This role supports relevant student officers and the Representation and Democracy Team with developing and achieving objectives and supports student decision making including Student Council, all members’ meetings, elections and referendums,

The post is a temporary Intern role until Spring. Benefits include free gym membership and 20% off in Union outlets.

Candidates must be a current Queen Mary student and able to demonstrate their eligibility to work in the UK in accordance with the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006. Where required this may include entry clearance or continued leave to remain under the Points Based Immigration Scheme.
