The England and Wales Cricket Board is working in partnership with the Queen Mary Students Union in order to achieve the following objectives:
  • Increase the frequency and consistency of current participants playing cricket
  • To provide opportunities that increase the number of new participants to cricket
  • To retain current players moving into and out of Higher Education
  • The primary purpose of this role is to take on a coordinator role for the brand new to 2015/16 QMSU Intramural Cricket league
 
The successful candidate will be required to volunteer on average 5 hours per week (Thursday afternoons – 16:00 – 18:00) for Semester 1 and 2.
 
The successful candidate will run and administer the indoor cricket league
 
The successful candidate will work towards the programme targets and objectives focussed around increasing participation into cricket in a lower level competition format.
 
The successful candidate will be working alongside the QMSU sports development team and the university cricket in a lower level competition format.
 
The successful candidate will be working alongside the QMSU sports development team and the university cricket clubs and relevant societies to ensure that recruitment, marketing and delivery of the league is a success.
 
The role aims to provide the successful candidate with key skill development to aid future employability, with ongoing training and support from QMSU and the England and wales Cricket Board (ECB).
 
The successful candidate will be expected to complete all CPD opportunities provided by the ECB and QMSU
 
The candidate will attend one meeting per month with the QMSU sports development team to monitor and evaluate the programme and your own performance. 
 
The England and Wales Cricket Board and QMSU will provide the Higher Education Cricket Activator with:
  • An ECB online activator qualification and certificate
  • Free England apparel
  • Personal Development Plan
  • Enrollment onto the QMSU skills award and the support package (https://www.qmsu.org/qmskills/)
  • Access to Middlesex Cricket Boards volunteer opportunities
  • Access to further volunteering opportunities with ECB including major match days / tournaments including ICC Women’s World Cup and ICC Champions Trophy in 2017 and ICC World Cup in 2019.’
