The Students' Union has a fantastic opportunity for an individual with a strong catering background in a similar role to join our team as a commis chef/chef de parties. Working within our Venues and Events team the successful individual will work across multiple sites and assist the Venues chef in all aspects of the organisations food operation, ensuring that the highest possible standards are met and adhered to at all times during a term time basis.
It is expected that the successful applicant will play an active role in helping the Venue Chef run the food operation, positively feed into menu discussions and play a lead role in ensuring first class stock control at all times. The assistant venues chef will fulfill hands on role working alongside a team of student staff and provide guidance and mentoring to this team.
Applicants should have a good understanding of food preparation, kitchen practises and possess and firm knowledge of Health & Safety, COSHH and HACCAP procedures.¿
The post is a 1 year fixed term contract (Term Time Only). Starting salary will be from £20,482 per annum and is inclusive of London allowance.
