We are looking for a current student to join the Students’ Union as our Student Volunteering Intern. The role will primarily involve providing administration and operational support for the Students’ Union’s Volunteering Service.

Volunteering offers students an opportunity to develop their employability skills, to have a positive impact in our local community and to meet other students, developing a sense of community and purpose and enhancing their university experience.

The Volunteering Intern will support the Students’ Union to deliver and continue to build the community volunteering offering for Queen Mary Students.

The Volunteering Intern will support the Student Engagement team to deliver the ‘Give Volunteering a Go’ programme (a calendar of one-off opportunities for students), help coordinate the volunteering brokerage service, and verify students’ volunteering hours.

We are particularly looking for applications from students who have experience of being involved in volunteering at Queen Mary Students’ Union and who have an understanding and passion for community and volunteering.

The post is due to start in September and last until June 2023, with an expectation to work around 14 hours per week over at least 3 days. We can be flexible at certain times of the year to allow time for your studies and potentially increase hours when you are free.
