Queen Mary Students’ Union has partnered with other organisations in Tower Hamlets, one of our borough councils, on a project to help strengthen the local Voluntary and Community Sector (VCS). In a pilot project, Queen Mary postgraduate students will be trained as bid writers and paired with local VCS organisations, helping them developing applications for external funding, which will enable them to continue and/or further their impact.

The role will be based within the Students’ Union but the Project Assistant will also work with other project partners including Tower Hamlets Council, Clarion Housing and Tower Hamlets Council for Voluntary Service. They will also work with Queen Mary volunteers and local VCS organisations involved in the pilot.

This role is an opportunity to gain project management experience, seeing a project through all stages of planning, delivery and evaluation. It’s an opportunity to gain experience of working in the community and voluntary sector and to facilitate positive impact for students and the local community.

Please read through the requirement for the role below carefully to ensure you meet the requirements before applying. Candidates must be able to demonstrate their eligibility to work in the UK in accordance with the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006
