This new and exciting role will support the coordination and administration of the Communications & Marketing Department at QMSU.

QMSU represents and supports over 15,000 students who make up the diverse and vibrant student body at Queen Mary, University of London.

The Communications & Marketing Administrator will be responsible for providing support to the department which currently consists of two members of staff. The department manages all design, promotion and marketing, student communications, maintenance of www.qmsu.org, and student feedback. The ideal candidate will be organised, have a keen attention to detail, excellent time management, competency using Microsoft Office and the ability to learn new skills.

The primary tasks of this role are assisting with:

  • Increasing the presence, profile and reputation of QMSU within the student body, university and greater community.
  • Developing and improving internal communications methods
  • Web updates, social media and student communications
  • Co-ordinating large Union Events (Welcome Fairs, Open Days)
  • Supporting the Communications & Marketing Department

Applicants should have excellent communication skills and have the ability to work with a wide range of people. Experience or familiarity with Adobe design software and/or web editing is desirable. Candidates must have the ability to work well under pressure, prioritise a varied workload and meet deadlines.

The post is a full time permanent post. Starting salary will be in the range £20,482 per annum inclusive of London Allowance. Benefits include 30 days annual leave, plus university closure days, SAUL care plan pension scheme, free gym membership and an interest free TFL season ticket loan.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate their eligibility to work in the UK in accordance with the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006. Where required this may include entry clearance or continued leave to remain under the Points Based Immigration Scheme.
