This exciting role will support the administration and coordination of the Communications and Marketing department at Queen Mary Students’ Union.

The Union represents and supports over 21,000 students who make up the diverse and vibrant student body at Queen Mary, University of London.

The Communications & Marketing Administrator will be responsible for providing support to the department which currently consists of 4 members of staff, a part-time intern and student staff photographers & videographers. The department manages all design, promotion and marketing, student communications, social media channels, websites, an app, membership data management system and student research & feedback for both the charitable and commercial areas of the Union.

The ideal candidate will be organised, have a keen attention to detail, excellent time management and a willingness to learn new skills.

The primary tasks of this role are assisting with;

Supporting the work of the Communications and Marketing department, working alongside team members and members of staff across the Union.

Developing and implementing the Union’s student communications, social media channels, e-newsletters, news and features and also internal communications.

Increasing the presence, profile and reputation of the Union within the student body, University and wider community.

Assisting with coordinating large Union events, such as the Welcome Fair.

To support the supervision of the student photographer and videographer team.

Applicants should have excellent communication skills, be highly organised and have the ability to work with a wide range of people. Experience or familiarity with Adobe Creative suite, content management systems, website editing and/or updating artwork is desirable. Candidates must have the ability to work well under pressure, prioritise a varied workload and meet deadlines.

The post is a full-time permanent post. Starting salary will be £20, 915 per annum inclusive of London Allowance. Benefits include 30 days annual leave, plus University closure days, pension scheme, free gym membership and an interest free TFL season ticket loan.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate their eligibility to work in the UK in accordance with the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006. Where required this may include entry clearance or continued leave to remain under the Points Based Immigration Scheme.
