An Update from your Executive Officers

A further update regarding Motion 7.2 passed at Student Council.

Queen Mary, University of London Students’ Union has recently passed policy meaning we will no longer sell the Daily Mail, the Sun or the Daily Express within our outlets. The Union is fully committed to standing with and supporting the democratic decision that was made by our Student Council.

We recognise that there are differences of opinion on this matter. When talking about ideas and issues we always encourage debate and welcome student discussion and feedback. Everyone is welcome at our Student Council meetings, and you can submit a motion or your ideas.

We would also ask everyone to show respect to your fellow students, be that on campus or on social media. The Union does not tolerate hate or discrimination. It’s important to us that all students feel welcome within our student community.

If you have any questions regarding this motion, or need any support, please contact Miranda, the Students’ Union President, on su-president@qmul.ac.uk.
