The Employability Project Fund (£5,000) is a one-off pot of money made available by the Queen Mary Annual Fund to Queen Mary Students’ Union groups who are going to deliver activities to improve the employability of their members. Queen Mary Students’ Union groups include societies, sports clubs, volunteering groups, student media outlets and RAG groups.
A fantastic 32 student groups applied in November, showing this fund really is student-led! A total of £12,686.76 was applied for but the Panel only had £5000 to give out. The 18 awarded groups have started delivering their projects which will conclude in February with groups submitting an impact report.
The variety and creativity of the 32 proposed projects demonstrates that the leaders of QMSU groups are thinking of creative ways to enhance the employability of their members. From covering curriculum gaps in their courses by delivering practical skills workshops, to organising innovative career networking events and designing projects to develop specific employability skills, groups have really impressed the panel!
We are looking forward to supporting the awarded groups to deliver their projects successfully.
