Get Active attendances have sky-rocketed this year with almost double the amount of attendees in comparison to last year. There have been 10,062 attendances so far with 4 weeks left of the Spring Timetable.
We all know how important it is to maintain a healthy lifestyle, especially during exam season! Get Active lets you play sport in a fun, affordable and relaxed environment. All abilities are welcome, equipment is provided free of charge and there are over 40 sessions each week in a wide variety of different sports.
Overall, 333 more people are getting active compared to last year, and the ratio of female to male participants has closed dramatically from 30:70 two years ago to 40:60 now. Participating in Get Active is producing some great benefits for Queen Mary students, with table tennis participant Manveer commenting:
“Get Active has given me the chance to cool down, chill out and take a breather from university work”.
QMSU Sport Participation Manager Andy Parkinson also said:
“Get Active has had a fantastic year and it has been great to see so many students enjoying taking part in sport each week. We are planning an even bigger programme for the 2016/17 Academic Year so watch this space!”
