Twice as many students have completed the Queen Mary Skills Award in comparison to last year.
Stand out from the crowd and demonstrate that you have developed the skills employers want with the Queen Mary Skills Award. The Award helps you recognise, strengthen and market the employability skills you develop through your dedication to the Union. This year the number of students who completed the Skills Award more than doubled with 97 students awarded compared to last year’s 43.
Why take part?
- 95% of students reported that the training sessions have strengthened their skills and that they will be useful for their future careers
- 91% found that the reflective session helped them recognise their skills and felt more confident about using their Student Union experiences in a job interview
- 96% would recommend participating in the Queen Mary Skills Award to a colleague
Who is eligible?
Students that take activity leader, representative roles and/or student staff roles in the Union can take part in the Queen Mary Skills Award.
What’s involved?
To successfully complete the Award participants have to record a minimum of 30 hours of activity in their Student Union roles, attend a minimum of three training sessions and attend a skills development reflective session.
