The Union works throughout the year to improve student life in areas such as access to education, public transport. student finance, equality of opportunity, and student welfare. The Union also represents students in the local community to local councils, police and other local organisations.
This area of the Union's work is the Welfare Zone, led by the Vice President Welfare, supported by eleven Welfare and Equal Opportunities Representatives and the Welfare Representation and Policy Coordinator, a full-time Union staff member.
