SIFE Queen Mary, Provide’s student social enterprise team, have been recognised for their outstanding work at the 2011 SIFE UK National Championships by walking away with the award for the most improved team in the Southern region. 44 teams from across the country compete in the SIFE UK competition and QM SIFE was amongst the 22 chosen to present in the main round of the competition for established teams. As if the award wasn’t enough, the team also received a cash prize for the strength of diversity in their projects, which include ‘Represent London 2012’, ‘Green Queen Project’ and ‘Ocean Women’s Association’.
With 22 active members this year, QM SIFE have established 4 social enterprise projects in East London, with 1360 hours of team activity, directly impacting 140 individuals and indirectly impacting 2160 in the local community. This is an amazing achievement for such a small team, and demonstrates the dedication and hard work from all SIFE members that will lead to continued success in 2011-12.
