Liberation Awards

Criteria

Change is at the heart of liberation, which this student has encapsulated. They have worked to create change across campus, improving their community’s lives and actively lobbying for an impactful and long-lasting difference.

Criteria

This award is for an individual who’s worked to actively be engaged in, or promoted, social, mental or physical wellbeing activities that inspire students. The winner would be someone who is passionate about lobbying changes, promoting schemes already in place to help fellow students and is someone who goes the extra mile to champion the importance of wellbeing.

(Term 1) Criteria

A total of 3 awards will be given to recognise the Best liberation Initiative in Term One. The Campaigns that are eligible is any liberation activity occurring in Term One of the Academic Year. This may or may not include our policy led campaigns below:

• Black History Month
• Islamic Heritage Month
• Disability History Month
• Christian Gospel Week

(Term 2) Criteria

A total of 3 awards will be given to recognise the Best liberation Initiative in Term 2.The Campaigns that are eligible is any liberation activity occurring in Term 2 of the Academic Year. This may or may not include our policy led campaigns below:

• Jewish Heritage Fortnight
• LGBTQ+ History Month
• Asian Heritage Month
• Anti-Apartheid Week

Criteria

This is a for an initiative that supports communities not in our eight core liberation campaign and is a new project, campaign or event that has occurred.

Criteria

This award is for an individual or group who have delivered a campaign which has created an inspirational and sustainable impact to develop a better student experience and/or awareness of an issue.

Criteria

This award is for a liberation event run by one of our Student Groups (such as Clubs, Societies or Groups), which creates a positive impact, well attended and was an innovative way to run a liberation event. It had a lasting impact to the community it represented. Shortlisted canididates will receive a liberation badge on their Club/ Society/ Group page

Criteria

This award is for a student or group (including societies) who have made an incredible impact across a wide range of students, with liberation. This could be through consistently producing high quality events, excellent content, or being a champion for change across the university this year.
