The Students' Union Social Leagues offer a fun social environment for students and staff to compete in sport without the commitment required for a sports club. Enter as an individual or as a team with friends and course mates and take part in different leagues across all 3 semesters. Trophies and medals are awarded for the winners of each league!
All Social Leagues take place either on or near campus. The leagues are open to all abilities and fees include fixtures, officials, facilities, and equipment. You will be required to wear appropriate clothing and footwear. Weekly fixtures and results will be posted on the Social Leagues pages so you can stay updated with where you stand in the league.
Due to London moving to Tier 2 only the following Sports will be offered at this time; football (7-a-side), football (11-a-side) and netball. We will constantly review the latest government guidance and update students with any further changes to the programme
Social Leagues will begin week commencing October 19th.
All sports will be run in adherence the latest Government guidelines for each league. There will be no sharing of equipment and hand sanitiser will be provided.
The QMSU 7-a-side football league is a fun, energetic way to play football against like-minded students and staff in a competitive environment. It doesn’t matter what your playing experience or ability level is like, there is a place for you in this league.
You play two 20 minute matches each week against two different teams within your league. Netted goals, referees, balls, and bibs are all included in your registration fee. League trophies and medals are up for grabs for the winning teams. You can enter as a team or individual, if you enter as an individual we will try our best to allocate you a team.
Playwaze app will be used to show your team fixtures and results each week.
The QMSU 11-a-side football league is the perfect way to play competitive football in your time as a student here, without the hassle of training and travel costs. Matches last 60 minutes on a full size marked out grass pitch with netted goals, FA qualified referees, and playing equipment (balls and bibs) all included in your league fee. Players are required to wear appropriate clothing to play football and you must wear boots and shin pads for your own safety.
The league is open to males of all abilities and is the perfect place to meet like-minded people in a fun, active, and relaxed competitive setting. The FA states that competition must be against same-gender teams, however, if you are female and want to get involved let us know and if demand is high we can look at setting a league up.
Matches take place every Wednesday afternoon in the Mile End Netball Courts. Matches are played in four quarters (total match time = 1 hour) with referees and equipment all included. All you need is a pair of trainers and some comfortable clothes to run around in. Trophies and medals are up for grabs for the winning teams too!
If you are an individual looking for a team email us, and we will try and find you a team to join.
