Liberation Awards

Change is at the heart of liberation, which this student has encapsulated. They have worked to create change across campus, improving their community’s lives and actively lobbying for impactful and long-lasting change.

This award is for an individual who’s worked to actively be engaged in, or promoted, social, mental or physical wellbeing activities that inspire students. The winner would be someone who is passionate about lobbying changes, promoting schemes already in place which help fellow students and someone who goes the extra mile to champion the importance of wellbeing.

This award is for a liberation event run by one of our Part-Time Officers, which creates a positive impact, well attended and was an innovative way to run a liberation event. It had a lasting impact to the community it represented and was funded by the liberation fund.

This award is for an individual who has delivered a campaign which has created an inspirational and sustainable impact to develop a better student experience and/or awareness of an issue.

This award is for a student or group (including societies) who have made an incredible impact across a wide range of students, with liberation. This could be through consistently producing high quality events, excellent content, or being a champion for change across the university this year.

This award is for an initiative that has improved the lives of our black students on campus. This could be an event that was part of Black History Month, a specific project led by one of our Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnic Reps or other PTOs.

This award is for an initiative that has improved the lives of our Muslim students on campus. This could be an event that was part of Islamic Heritage Month, a specific project led by one of our PTOs or a student led campaign or event.

This award is for an initiative that has improved the lives of our Disabled students on campus. This could be an event that was part of Disability History Month, a specific project led by one of our PTOs such as our Disabled and SPLD Reps or a student led campaign or event.

This award is for an initiative that has improved the lives of our Jewish students on campus. This could be an event that was part of Jewish Heritage Fortnight, a specific project led by one of our PTOs or a student led campaign or event.

This award is for an initiative that has improved the lives of our LGBTQ+ students on campus. This could be an event that was part of LGBTQ+ History Month, a specific project led by one of our PTOs such as our LGBTQ+ Reps or a student led campaign or event.

This award is for an initiative that has improved the lives of our Asian students on campus. This could be an event that was part of Asian Heritage Month, a specific project led by one of our PTOs such as our International Reps or a student led campaign or event.

This is a for an initiative that supports communities not in our six, core liberation campaigns and is a new project, campaign or event that has occurred.
