The Volunteering Awards recognise the dedication and achievements of QMSU’s volunteers, student volunteer groups and community partner organisations.
The winners will be announced during the awards ceremony on Tuesday 24th March - save the date!
Please read all available award categories carefully and submit your nominations by Monday 2nd March 2026 (9am) to be considered for an award.
After the nomination period closes, the Volunteering Board will go through the nominations, make a shortlist, and pick one winner per category. The shortlist and winners will be announced at the ceremony.

Group Awards
These awards celebrate the hard work of QMSU’s Student Volunteering Groups to make an impact on the community. Please read through the criteria and nominate your group!
Volunteering Group of the Year
Criteria
Awarded to an outstanding volunteering group who have made a positive contribution in the community, provided high-quality volunteering opportunities to students, and showed commitment to sustainability throughout the academic year.

Volunteering Group Event of the Year
Criteria
Awarded to the volunteering group who have planned, delivered, and made a positive impact through an exceptional event.

Individual Volunteer Awards
These awards recognise the dedication and achievements of individual volunteers across a range of volunteering opportunities and activities.
Volunteering Group Volunteer of the Year
Criteria
Awarded to an outstanding volunteering group member who has made a positive contribution to the community and to their volunteering group.

Community Volunteer of the Year
Criteria
Any student who has volunteered for a QMSU Community Partner Organisation is eligible for this award. We encourage our partner organisations to nominate students for this.

Sustainability Volunteer of the Year
Criteria
Awarded to a volunteer who has shown dedication to sustainability through their volunteering efforts in the academic year.

Awarded to a student who has started volunteering this academic year and who has shown dedication to volunteering and made an impact on the community.

Awarded to a community partner organisation who has collaborated and maintained a strong relationship with Queen Mary Students’ Union, providing valuable volunteering opportunities to our students.
