I'm Malvika, AKA Vicky. I'm a second-year neuro student and I would be honoured to be your allied courses rep this year!

As an incredibly social person (I'm a part of BLWFC, QM Boxing Soc, QMBL Movember, Diaspora Speaks and many other student groups) I am invested in the community I aim to represent. I am passionate and mature and do not take no for an answer; I will push for our needs as allied course students at every opportunity given. This includes:

  1. Integration into the BL community beyond sports clubs and academic societies: we often tend to feel like an afterthought in both the BL and SBCS communities. By working alongside other representatives I aim to represent and amplify our voices in the BL and QM communities.
  2. Working with the student societies and the careers office to employability: This includes summer internships and job opportunities, creating a better network with alumni and having coffee mornings and a common space to discuss these issues are a few ideas.
  3. Collate and signpost students to all the resources available to us: Often students are unaware of the resources already in place by the uni to help us out. I aim to create a safe space for students to talk about what bothers them and subsequently signpost them to resources that may already be in place to help them out and push for better resources if this is not the case.

While I have well-defined plans for the changes I want to bring through this position, I recognize that at the end of the day I represent you guys and your voices and hence I encourage your suggestions.

By promoting student engagement with the allied courses community I believe I can make this little bubble of ours a more comfortable, fun and supportive place.

Vote Malvika for Allied course rep for the best of all the worlds!
