Hello! My name is Daria Vasilica and next fall I will be starting the second year of my law degree.
Ever since I was a high school student, I have been passionate about ensuring that students have the courage to speak up about their difficulties and voice their issues. I worked closely with the students' committee to bring forward the desired changes and also made myself available for the other student to come to me and discuss their concerns, and where necessary to guide them to reach out to somebody within the department. When starting university, I wanted to continue this journey, and therefore I got elected Course Representative for first-year law students. After further developing the required skills by attending training sessions, the role pushed me to develop my approach. I have been truly dedicated in voicing students' concerns this year and trying to create a much better communication between us and the faculty. Therefore, I persuaded them to create a dedicated forum on QM+ where students can engage with us to make a change.
I believe that I am a great fit for this position as I have previous experience helping students and it is something that I want to continue to do throughout the next academic years!
If I become Welfare Representative, I will ensure to continue to do the same, as well as trying to encourage everyone to build better relationships within the society!
