Hi, my name is Elohor & I am a 3rd year dental student running for the role of dental liaison officer for Teddy Bear Hospital 2022/23.
I have been a part of Teddy Bear Hospital since my 1st year; freshers rep in Year 1 and team leader in Years 2 and 3. As team leader and freshers rep, I have been actively involved in the organising and running of clinics so I know how to run the clinics in a way that each child gets the most out of it. I also have an understanding of what the volunteers require to gain the best experience for themselves so they too can enjoy each clinical session. This is something I hope would prove valuable in the role of dental liaison officer and allow me to successfully recruit new volunteers to the society.
As well as providing support to my fellow committee members in the running of clinics, my aim as dental liaison officer next year would be to promote Teddy Bear Hospital both within the University and outside of it. This would include possible collaborations with other university societies to expand on what we teach on clinics. The work Teddy Bear Hospital does is so valuable and I would love to carry on being a part of raising awareness for the society to get more people involved and make sure this work continues.
I have thoroughly enjoyed my experience with Teddy Bear Hospital so far & I would love to continue working with the society so please vote Elohor for dental liaison officer!
