I have a great interest in Japanese culture and language and therefore would continue the current committee’s efforts in promoting culture and language for all members. I would like to have more nights out in form of dinners/ pubs and maybe something like karaoke and film nights!
I have applied for the position of VP as that is where I have the most experience and where I believe I can make the most difference. I would push for my ideas and what the members want as well as helping the President to carry out their duties if elected. Regarding experience; when I was completing my undergrad at QM I was the Japan Society’s VP during the COVID years and thus have experience in the role and the drive to do what we couldn’t implement (due to COVID restrictions) when I was on the previous committee. Furthermore as a member for 4 years now, I know what worked and what didn’t in previous years and thus have the experience to help decide what would be fun for member and what wouldn’t be!
