Konnichiwa! My name is Yamato Sano and I am a first year finance/econ student and I'm running for marketing director.
This year, I had a great time attending various events that enabled me to engage with other Japanese students in the university as well as people who are genuinely interested in the culture. Some events allowed me to deepen my connection with the culture such as Sake tasting which taught me how to actually enjoy Japanese rice wine.
My main objective is to organise similar events that could introduce people to japanese seasonal events such as Mamemaki( throwing beans at people "indiscriminately") or Japanese instruments such as shamisen or Shakuhachi.
I would love to be able to use my marketing skill to bring more people in and create an open community where people can actually deepen their interest in Japan.
