Candidate for the position of President

Ines Couto Andre

Hi,
I'm Inês (or Izzie), and I'm a first-year medical genetics student running for President. I love organizing, feel comfortable in leadership and teamwork positions, and I'm invested in making Marrow the best society it can be!

I've been a part of the Marrow society since September, and the dedication and hard work of its members have continuously impressed me. I'm impressed not only by the smooth running of the society by the current committee, that made it a welcoming society, but also by the willingness of its members to dedicate their time to help others.

As President, I would strive to bring a high level of efficiency, professionalism, and communication to the role. These skills are ones I've developed from past roles as part of the Student Ambassador Team for my high school and my experience organizing Community Cleanups. I'm confident in my communication skills, honed through past volunteering experiences at a kindergarten and residency for individuals with motor disabilities. As President, I would ensure smooth communication between the committee and its members.

I admire Marrow's mission to help Anthony Nolan save and improve patients' lives. As President, I would be determined to help follow and achieve this aim, following the guidance and teachings of our current Co-Presidents. I would also work to make Marrow a fun society with plenty of social events that our members can look back on as "the good old days in university" in the future!
