Hello, my name is Rayan Zafar, a 4th-year medical student at Bart’s and the London and it would be my pleasure to be your Vice President for next year. From holding several previous committee positions, I see myself as the optimal candidate. I view myself as a passionate and outgoing person with a great interest in MedTech. My biggest hobby outside academia is definitely my football. I play 4 times a week with the mighty SBLHFC and has been one of the highlights of my time at University.
What I could bring to MedTech Society:
In terms of academic groups, I have been on various committees in different roles in my 4 years at Barts' and this has allowed me to build my experience bank. I have enjoyed the interactions of being on committees and relish in working with like-minded people on projects of interest for our society members to benefit from.
I would like to think that I could bring some fresh perspective to BL MedTech Society. For the general secretary role, I hope to do a few things. For example, one of my aims is to streamline the certification process for each event to make it easier for members to receive their certificates to recognise their surgical commitment and achievements.
