Studying law is tough, and I know how stressful it can get. That’s why I’m running for Welfare Officer—to make sure no one feels alone. My goal is to create a supportive, open, and welcoming space where we can talk about mental health, manage stress, and build a stronger community. I’ll organise peer support networks, well-being events, and academic stress relief sessions. Your welfare matters, and I’ll be here to listen, support, and take action. Vote for me, let’s make well-being a priority!

Dear Members of the QMUL Law Society,

I’m excited to put myself forward for Welfare Officer because I know how tough studying law can be. The pressure, deadlines, and expectations can feel overwhelming, and I want to make sure no one feels alone in this journey. My goal is simple: to create a supportive, open, and welcoming environment where we can all thrive—academically, mentally, and emotionally.

My Vision

Mental and emotional well-being should be a priority, not an afterthought. I want to make sure that everyone in our society feels heard, valued, and supported. No one should have to struggle in silence, and I will work to create a culture where talking about mental health is normal and encouraged.

Key Priorities

  1. Mental Health Support & Awareness

    • Organising workshops and talks with mental health professionals.

    • Working with university counselling services to make support more accessible.

    • A monthly well-being newsletter with tips, resources, and motivational content.

  2. Community & Peer Support

    • Setting up a student-led well-being network so we can support each other.

    • Hosting monthly ‘Check-In’ sessions—safe spaces to chat and share concerns.

    • Organising welfare walks, coffee mornings, and mindfulness sessions to help people connect and de-stress.

  3. Balancing Academics & Well-being

    • Sharing stress-management resources to help with workload pressure.

    • Encouraging a better work-life balance with fun, relaxing social events.

    • Pushing for deadline flexibility when students need extra support.

  4. Inclusivity & Accessibility

    • Making sure all welfare initiatives are inclusive and meet the needs of our diverse student body.

    • Providing specific support for neurodivergent students and those from underrepresented backgrounds.

    • Creating safe spaces where everyone can feel heard, supported, and respected.
