I’m running for Barts Vice President to ensure every student feels heard, supported, and represented. I will strengthen communication with faculty, improve academic clarity, champion proactive wellbeing support, and expand career opportunities. Barts deserves transparent leadership, accountability, and a union that works consistently in students’ best interests.
1. Academic Excellence & Support
Medicine and Dentistry are demanding. I will:
- Advocate for improved academic support systems during peak exam periods.
- Push for clearer communication between faculty and students.
- Ensure concerns about workload, placements, and assessments are raised directly and transparently.
- Work toward expanded revision resources and wellbeing support during finals.
We deserve structure, clarity, and fairness.
2. Welfare & Wellbeing That Works
High-performance environments require high-quality support.
I will:
- Champion stronger mental health visibility specifically tailored to Barts students.
- Work with QMSU to improve access to counselling and support services.
- Promote realistic wellbeing initiatives — not just events, but sustainable support structures.
Support should not feel reactive — it should feel reliable.
3. Campus Identity & Community
Barts has a proud history. Our campus should feel united, not secondary.
I will:
- Strengthen collaboration between Barts and Mile End campuses.
- Support more Barts-focused events and professional networking opportunities.
- Enhance sports and society engagement across campuses.
- Preserve and promote the historic identity of Barts and The London.
We are not an extension — we are a cornerstone.
4. Transparency & Representation
Representation means communication.
I commit to:
- Monthly updates on what is being discussed at Union level.
- Open forums for students to raise concerns.
- Clear reporting on progress and outcomes.
- Being visible, accessible, and accountable.
You should always know what your VP is doing for you.
5. Professional Development & Future Readiness
As future healthcare professionals, our preparation must go beyond lectures.
I will:
- Push for increased career workshops and NHS networking opportunities.
- Encourage collaboration with alumni.
- Support initiatives that develop leadership, negotiation, and advocacy skills.
Your degree is the foundation. Your future is the priority.
Why Me?
I understand academic pressure. I understand representation. And I understand the importance of leadership that is calm, strategic, and effective.
This is about raising standards — not maintaining them.
If elected, I will represent Barts students with professionalism, consistency, and strength.
