From lecture halls to offer letters - making opportunities visible, accessible and actionable

Let's be honest, most if not all of us are here to build and progress our careers by gaining relevant experience and exposure.
Careers' support should be structured, transparent, and accessible. We are running to ensure that every QM student, regardless of degree or background has clear pathways from university to opportunity.
Our main focus & priorities:
1. Transparency & Access : Clearer signposting of internships, insight schemes and application deadlines, including a centralised monthly digest - highlighting opportunities across sectors, not just traditional corporate pathways.
2. Versatile Skillset (Skills That Get You Hired): We will collaborate with the Careers Hub to deliver more practical and simulation-based workshops (e.g. Assessment Centre Practice) designed with employer input and soft skills training built around what recruiters are actually looking for.
3. Inclusivity : As international students, we understand visa concerns and sponsorship barriers. We will advocate for more guidance sessions, addressing international pathways and alternative career routes (careers outside of the UK). We will actively work with other Reps to ensure that feedback becomes policy, not just a conversation.
4. Impact-Driven Funding: Fighting for fair, transparent funding decisions that support practical employability initiatives, not token events. You deserve complete visibility into exactly how your student fee is being invested towards your future.
Turning Queen Mary into a place where student potential is not limited by lack of guidance, visibility or opportunity, and where careers support actively converts talent into tangible success.
Your degree is the headline, let’s make sure your career is the breakthrough story.
