I am running to be your Science and Engineering Representative because I believe our faculty deserves focused and effective representation. As students in Science and Engineering, we face intensive workloads, lab access pressures, coursework deadlines, group projects, and balancing academic rigour with career preparation. Our voices must be clearly represented within the Students’ Union to ensure our concerns translate into real action.
I will ensure that:
- I will prioritize clear and consistent communication between students and staff, ensuring that concerns are quickly raised and effectively addressed
- I will advocate for fair assessment practices and manageable workloads
- I will represent our collective feedback at the appropriate channels so that our voices lead to meaningful improvements in the course
- I am committed to supporting professional and academic development by encouraging stronger connections between different year groups – easing the understanding of course material and improving networking opportunities
- I will actively seek input from the cohort through regular surveys, polls, and informal conversations, so that decisions will reflect what matters most to us
- I will improve access to career opportunities by pushing for more events and resources that connect students with internships, industrial placements, and graduate pathways
- I will support wellbeing initiatives that recognise the pressures STEM students face
