Join us on Wednesday evening on Microsoft Teams for a webinar with Juany Murphy and Catherine Cibulskis from Otra Cosa Network to learn about their role in promoting education, women's empowerment, and social development in Peru.


They will talk about how they kept involved during the pandemic, skills you learn through volunteering that you can add to your CV, and about the wonderful work they have been doing in Peru for over a decade, all while exploring the country and its culture.

Speakers:
Juany Murphy

Juany is from Trujillo, Peru. She studied in the UK, holds a BA in Sociology, an MA in Education and Human Rights and an MSc in International Development from the University of Birmingham. She started OCN’s literacy programme with women in Yanasara in the highlands of Peru and the HELP Literacy: LitClubs programme for girls – and now boys – in Huanchaco. She has also participated in several development projects in the area, such as enabling shanty town residents to register for national identity card.


Juany works as the Director of International Relations and has the lead role in building relationships with universities and other institutions, across the UK and Europe. She also shares responsibility for the growth and strategic direction of the organisation.

Catherine Cibulskis

Catherine studies Spanish and English Literature at the University of Oxford, where she had poetry and articles published by ISIS magazine, Seven Voices blog and Cherwell. She has also contributed poetry to Oxford's LGBTQ society magazine and was a runner up for The Oxford Scientist's poetry competition. She currently works as the Assistant Liaison to International Manager at Otra Cosa Network. She is also a Spanish and English tutor, having co-ran a creative writing club to encourage younger students (ages 11-15) to pursue independent pieces. She started at Otra Cosa Network as a teaching assistant, teaching English to classes of 20 (ages 6-13) and helping to run a women’s literacy club in Huanchaco, Peru.
