Innovations in Cancer Research and Care: From Discovery to Delivery 2026 is an academic oncology conference organised by BL Oncology Society, in collaboration with BL Academic Research Society. The conference will take place across two dates in February 2026, hosted at the Garrod Building, Turner Street, Whitechapel, E1 2AD.

The main conference will be held on 7th February 2026, followed by a focused surgical oncology workshop on 11th February 2026. Together, these events provide a comprehensive platform to explore the full translational journey of cancer care—from laboratory discovery and clinical research to real-world delivery in surgical and medical oncology.

The main conference will feature a dynamic programme of expert-led talks, panel discussions, interactive sessions, and a poster competition. Topics will span key advances in cancer biology, translational research, systemic therapies, clinical trials, service deliverys, and patient-centred innovation, offering attendees exposure to both cutting-edge science and its practical implementation in modern oncology practice.

The surgical workshop on 11th February 2026 will deliver hands-on, skills-based learning focused on core principles of surgical oncology. Led by a consultant breast surgeon, the session will cover tumour resection techniques, oncological margins, treatment planning, recurrence considerations, and multidisciplinary decision-making, providing attendees with applied insight into operative cancer management.

Open to medical students at Barts, this conference aims to inspire and educate participants while fostering collaboration across disciplines. Attendees will gain a deeper understanding of how innovations in cancer research are translated into effective, patient-focused care that improves outcomes across the cancer pathway.

Join us for two impactful days of learning, skills development, and professional networking as we work to advance excellence and innovation in cancer research and care.
