International Women’s Day: Activism in Action, by Amnesty UK Feminist Network
This International Women’s Day, join Amnesty International UK Feminists for an energising, practical, and community driven afternoon of feminist organising.
Our Activism in Action event is designed for aspiring campaigners, first time activists, and anyone with an idea for gender equality who wants support bringing it to life. Whether you have never campaigned before or you are looking to sharpen your skills, this event will give you the tools, confidence, and network to take meaningful action. This year, we are focusing on bodily autonomy and gender equality campaigning, equipping you with real strategies to create impact.
Event Details:
Saturday 7 March, 1:00pm to 5:00pm Networking: 5:00pm to 6:00pm, duration: 4 hours, format: In person
What to Expect:
Session 1: This Is What Feminist Activism Looks Like
You already care. Now let’s turn that into action because the world we want to see is built by people exactly like you.
We will cover:
• Everyday acts of resistance and why they add up to real change
• How to use your voice, your network, and your everyday spaces to take action
• Practical tools to mobilise others and keep momentum going
There will be opportunities to directly join and take action within Amnesty Feminists’ My Body My Rights campaign.
Session 2: Panel Discussion
How Can We Engage Men and Boys in Feminist Activism?
This honest and open panel brings together people working on the frontline of this question every day.
We will explore:
• What real allyship looks like in practice
• What is stopping men from showing up
• How we shift culture, not just conversations
Audience Q and A included.
Session 3: Campaigning Development Workshop
This is where ideas become action plans.
Whether you want to join the My Body My Rights campaign or build a campaign of your own, this hands on workshop gives you the space, tools, and feedback to make it real.
Participants will:
• Develop or refine their own campaign ideas
• Work through structured campaign workbooks
• Explore creative and strategic tactics to achieve campaign goals
• Present ideas in small groups for constructive feedback
You will leave with a clear and practical campaign action plan.
