Students with Disabilities Society - Talk: Andy Russell, Spinal Research Charity

Monday 05 December 2022, 3pm - 4pm

About this event

Unfortunaly, this event has been postponed - please keep an eye out for a rearranged date in the new year.

Join Students with Disabilities for a talk and Q&A session with Andy Russell from the Spinal Research Charity.

A diving accident in a Surrey lake, aged 18, left Andy with a C4-5 injury. He spent 10 months in rehabilitation at Stoke Mandeville hospital. After which, with much determination, he managed to get back to his degree course after only a year and graduated with honours.

Andy is a committed supporter of Spinal Research and strongly believes improvements will come because of all the breakthroughs the medical researchers have had. It's important, however, to live life to the full today - you should not put your life on hold.

Hear about how Andy has faced the challenges associated with his disability and never let it be a barrier to him reaching his goals and have an opportunity to ask him any questions you may have.
