Biology Society: Imperial College Ecology Campus Trip

Saturday 16 March 2024, noon - 7:30pm

Imperial College's Silwood Park Campus
About this event

Biological Sciences Society are holding a trip to Imperial College's Silwood Park campus for anyone interested in doing a Masters in ecology.

We will be getting a tour from one of our last copresidents, Tyler Christian, who is currently studying MSc Ecology Evolution and Conservation.

He will tell us about his course, the other courses, what studying at Silwood is like and what research they are doing there.

As it is also a large patch of natural land, we will be walking around to look at the local wildlife

We may even get the opportunity to set up some camera traps and a mammal transect!

And we may see the campus chickens too!

And then in the evening, we will have dinner at the local restaurant.

This trip is limited to 6 people.

We will meet from 12PM at Richmond Station on Platform 1 to board the South Western Railway to Reading at 12:30PM.

We will get off at Sunningdale Station then hail a taxi to drop us there.

We will be having dinner at 5:30PM at Pazzia, a nice Italian restaurant.

Please fill this form if you fully intend to come.

Aside from money for the restaurant, please also bring good waterproof shoes, as the terrain will be muddy, and clothing suited to the weather as we may be outside for most of the day.

Feel free to also bring binoculars and bird spotting guides!

We look forward to seeing you there! :D

Also, this week, we will be holding a collaboration with Art Society on Thursday 14th March where we will be making and painting with dyes made from plants.
