LTS: Railway History Walk

Saturday 05 October 2024, noon - 2pm

Bancroft Road (Outside the Union Shop), Mile End Campus
About this event

You might have seen plenty of Greater Anglia trains head along the GEML towards the back of our Mile End campus... but did you know there's almost 200 years of history along that route? On Sat 5th October, we'll take a walk alongside the famous railway arches that span over 1 mile, taking a look at the historical remains of railways long since gone.

We'll be meeting outside the Union Shop and Cafe on Bancroft Road, towards the Western end of the Mile End campus. The walk itself will take about an hour, at a gentle pace and with plenty of stops to discuss the railway's history. We'll finish at the old Shoreditch tube station, right next to the famous Brick Land.

When? - Sat 5th Oct, 12-2pm
Where? - Bancroft Road (Outside the Union Shop), Mile End Campus

As always, you can get in touch via WhatsApp or email if you have any questions. We look forward to seeing you there!
