About this event

CREATING 3D SCULPTURES FOR MARINE CONSERVATION AWARENESS

We'll be focusing on the importance of both marine ecosystems and their conservation, as part of the SDG 14- life below water. Starting with a presentation of some of the biggest threats to reefs currently, we'll then play a documentary while doing some hands on crafting of anemones, corals and sea creatures out of recycled paper, cardboard and more. These sculptures will then be displayed on campus, with a matching QR code linking to select marine conservation charities and organisations.

Come along and build, decorate and paint cardboard sculptures of whales, turtles, fish and more - we'll have something for all experience levels and skills to take part in! All materials used will be recyclable, and repurposed from various local shops and Queen Mary facilities. At the end, you'll get to see your creations displayed and used in promoting awareness of marine conservation efforts!
