Step away from your deadlines and join us for Paint Your Research — a fun, low-pressure social for PhD students to explore their work in a completely different way.

Using paints and canvases provided on the day, you’ll create a visual representation of your research, whether that’s through symbols, abstract art, diagrams, metaphors, or complete chaos. No artistic experience needed — this is all about creativity, conversation, and having fun with your research outside of the usual academic setting.

As everyone paints, you’ll have the chance to chat with researchers from different disciplines, learn about what others are working on, and even try to guess each other’s research topics. At the end of the session, we’ll hold a light-hearted showcase and voting round with prizes for the most creative, funniest, and standout artworks.

The event is free to attend for all PhD students, but spaces are limited, so we can make sure materials aren’t wasted. Use this link to sign up.
