Welcome to the Queen Mary Salsa Society! 

Hi everyone! :) 

If you are a latin dance lover or a complete beginner that would like to learn salsa and bachata, this society is for you! 

We have weekly classes of salsa, many socials as well as a Performance Team that goes to university competitions and does performances at famous places and events! 

Why come learn with us:

• Salsa society is a very open club. It’s a great way to meet new people while having fun and discovering the Latin American culture. Everyone is lovely and we have the best of fun! 
• We have regular clases for begginers.
• This year we have two peformance teams - couples salsa and ladies bachata. 
• Intermediates can audition to join either performance teams and compete across UK or abroad.
• In each class we learn new steps that we can practice among ourselves or go to a salsa bar together or during events with other universities. 
• We organise external events and trips around the UK for latin events such as reggaeton nights, or salsa-bachata festivals. 
• We organise very fun socials!     
• We get invited to big salsa Balls and events that other universities do such as the Oxford Ball! Of course we also have our own!

Our Salsa Classes: 

Weekly in-person Salsa/Bachata Classes with our professional teacher Ivan Galvez!

• The first class of 2024 will be on the  24th of January.

• Wednesdays 5:45 - 7:45 pm Beginners/Improvers Level at Dawson Hall Charterhouse Square - EC1M 6BQ
  Classes start on the week commencing 25 September 2023. 

  • Members: £7 to attend 2 hours of classes, £4 for 1 hour only.

  • Non-members: £10 to attend 2 hours of classes, £6 for 1 hour only.

The Performance Teams (Intermediate Level) 

Bachata Team 

This team comprises of 6-8 dancers who learn and perform a choreography at events and competitions! 

• Our 2022 girls team won 3rd place at the Reading Uni Competition last year!

By having a membership, you can purchase cheaper weekly classes and also attend our socials! Once you become a member, we will contact you with a link to join our exclusive members Whatsapp group!

This is a Membership for anyone who wants to join our society that does not study in Queen Mary.
