GEPSOC

About

GEPSoc aims to provide a welcoming environment to integrate the new graduate entry students into the medical school, alongside organising teaching, resources and social events for GEPs of all years!

Welcome to GEPSoc 2025/26!

GEPSoc is a peer-led society of Graduate Entry Medicine students here at Barts and the London. Our main aim is to provide a supportive and encouraging environment to host teaching, share resources and organise social events for GEPs across the medical school.

We know that the first year of the GEP course can be a particularly challenging time so we provide a supportive network through our GEP families. In our eighth year of running, we know how to help you make the most of the first year of the GEP course, and provide the right resources to help you streamline your learning.

In affiliation with CLASS and MESS we will be running revision sessions to help you understand many of the big topics you will be taught*. These areas are assessed in the progress test and end of year examinations, so it is useful to understand these topics as early as you can. Our teaching includes problem-based learning (PBL), data interpretation, anatomy and clinical skills based sessions, which should help clear up any gaps in knowledge. We will also prepare you for what the exams will actually be like.

Alongside supporting the year 1 GEPs, we have year 3 teaching leads. The year 3 leads will organise relevant teachings throughout the academic year, and will help provide advice for the 2nd year GEPs on making the most of placements and clinical teaching.

Teaching aside, we will provide social activities for all GEPSoc members, including casual drinks in The Griff to planned activities off campus! We plan these events around the academic calendar so that as many people can get involved as possible!

Our aim for this year is to provide more events that will support socialising between GEPs in every year.

We can’t wait to meet you all!

We have teamed up with CLASS and MESS to deliver content on their behalf to get around this. For this reason all academic content is freely available for both members and non-members of GEPSOC.
