“Find your balance, follow your North Star.”
The North Star Society is a student-led wellbeing community dedicated to supporting students' mental, emotional, physical, and social well-being. University life can be fast-paced and demanding, and our society exists to provide a calm, inclusive, and non-judgmental space where students can slow down, reconnect with themselves, and build meaningful connections with others.
At North Star, we believe that every student has their own “North Star” — a personal sense of direction shaped by their goals, values, and experiences. Rather than telling students what their path should be, we support them in discovering it for themselves through a wide range of accessible and reflective activities. Our regular wellbeing sessions are designed to reduce stress, improve focus, and promote balance in daily life.
Alongside wellbeing practices, we encourage self-expression and connection through creative workshops such as canvas painting, karaoke nights, movie screenings, games nights, and laughter-based sessions. These events help students relax, build confidence, and form friendships in a pressure-free environment.
A key part of our society is emotional support and inclusion. Through initiatives like our No Judgement Zone discussion circles, the Polaris Box for anonymous reflections, and tailored workshops for first-year and international students, we aim to create a supportive community where everyone feels heard, respected, and valued.
North Star Society is open to all students, regardless of background or experience. Whether you are seeking calm, creativity, connection, or clarity, North Star offers a welcoming space to grow, reflect, and find your own direction during university life.
