BL FGD Society is a welcoming community for medical students who are the first in their families to pursue a career in medicine. Our aim is to create a supportive space where students can connect, share experiences and feel empowered to thrive throughout medical school.
We host a range of events throughout the year, including informal networking sessions, interactive workshops and wellbeing-focused activities. These events are designed to help you navigate the hidden curriculum, build confidence and connect with others who understand the unique journey of being a first-generation medical student.
We are proud to be affiliated with the international organisation First Gen Doctors, who support first-generation medical applicants, students and doctors through mentorship, advocacy and community building.
Whether you identify as a first-generation student or simply want to support a more inclusive medical community, everyone is welcome! Here at BL FGD, we lift as we climb.
