About Us

The Barts Medical Ethics Society aims to create a welcoming and inclusive space for medical students to explore ethical and medico-legal issues in healthcare beyond the formal curriculum. We encourage thoughtful discussion, critical thinking, and respectful debate around contemporary and classical dilemmas in medicine, drawing on perspectives from clinical practice, law, and healthcare policy.

Our Aims

•  To provide a safe and respectful forum for discussion of ethical and medico-legal issues in medicine.
•  To support the development of ethical reasoning, critical thinking, and professional judgement among medical students.
•  To complement the medical curriculum by exploring real-world ethical and legal dilemmas encountered in clinical practice.
