Everyone is welcome, regardless of if you have played before; so come along and give it a try.
You will need to bring sports clothing, trainers, water and most importantly, enthusiasm! If you'd like to bat, please bring personal protective gear!
We will also have a dedicated beginners' as well as women's net on the day, everyone is welcome!

Training
Regular training session with our high level coach focusing on technique, fitness and match scenario’s as well as competitive cricket at the top divisions of university cricket allow us to maintain our high standards. Training takes place on Wednesdays, throughout the first two terms at Ilford Cricket School, a specialist cricket hub in the heart of East London! Sunday training is also hosted where we perfect our technique and fitness!
Wednesday Training - Training on Wednesdays takes place between 2-4pm. We usually begin with a quick warm-up followed by re-visiting the drills which were worked on during the week. We then have 3 scenario based nets working on a specific attribute of the game. We have 1 bowling machine lane which is usually manned by our coach.
Sunday - Training on Sunday takes places at 11am, and is usually technique bases and consists of practicing and perfecting drills. Alternatively we also work on our fielding and fitness during these sessions.
Women's Cricket
Barts and the London Cricket Club, historically has been a men’s sport, with no women having paid membership in its exuberant history. That is until last year. We wanted to change this and be more inclusive of everyone studying at QM and Barts by transitioning to a mixed sport. Through regular women-only training sessions with our coach, and friendly matches, we grew our women's membership massively and now have lots of playing and social members. This year we have successfully formed the first-ever Women's Cricket Team at the university and will be playing both hardball and softball matches over the year!
Women's Training - Training on Wednesdays takes place between 1-2pm with our coach, involving drills, scenario work and nets to help develop essential skills in preparation for our matches. Women who feel confident and able, or simply want to further practice their skills are also more than welcome to stay on for the men's session that immediately follows!
Keep an eye out for a separate Taster Session during the first term!
Socials
The Cricket Club offers more than just a chance to train weekly across some of the best facilities by having a very active social calendar. Unlike other cricket clubs at the university, we have weekly socials at tables, regular black tie events and our annual mystery tours; we have a wide range of activities which are open to all. Some our most active social members had never even played cricket before coming to university. Non-drinking events, curry nights, football, basketball, badminton etc. There's something for everyone here!

Tours
Every year the Cricket Club runs a mystery national and international tour to an undisclosed location. Recent destinations include: Amsterdam, Albufeira and Tenerife. These tours offer members an amazing opportunity to get away from university for a couple days with the club, make new friends and forge unforgettable memories. We take part in a variety of activities such as pub crawls, waterparks and zorb football as well as nights out in our host country. Our tours have a reputation for being one of if not the best of all the clubs, and are always one of the highlights of the academic year and your time at university!
